UFO/UAP historian Richard Dolan will discuss pertinent details of his current research into Unidentified Submerged Objects (USOs). This is a three-volume, 1,200 page study covering the history of humanity’s encounters with the unknown of the deep, accounting for nearly 700 cases through the years.

Richard’s first volume was released in February 2025. His second and third volumes are scheduled for publication this year. Dolan’s research on USOs reveals a pattern of intelligent, technologically advanced objects operating in Earth’s waters, with activity significantly increasing after World War II, possibly peaking in the 1970s, but continuing intensely to this day. After analyzing all of the cases, he identifies consistent characteristics including transmedium capabilities, extraordinary underwater speeds, and apparent interest in military vessels.

Dolan also notes that USO behavior shifted notably around 1968, primarily to night time operations, suggesting strategic adaptation to human technological development. Dolan ultimately concludes that USOs likely represent non-human intelligence, favoring the extraterrestrial hypothesis as the least problematic answer.

He suggests oceans provide ideal bases for extraterrestrial presence, offering concealment and stable conditions. Despite the challenges of underwater observation and military secrecy, the consistent patterns across geography, witnesses, and time lead him to assert that something tangible operates in our waters with capabilities surpassing human technology, warranting serious scientific attention rather than dismissal as natural phenomena or mis-identifications.

Dolan points to evidence suggesting UFO/UAP information is controlled outside normal government structures. This system employs compartmentalization, ridicule, and control of gatekeeping institutions to maintain secrecy, with these mechanisms becoming increasingly sophisticated in the digital age. Dolan concludes that disclosure about UFO reality remains “impossible and inevitable”- impossible because established powers have no incentive to release transformative information that threatens their interests, yet inevitable because something so significant cannot remain hidden forever. Rather than expecting top-down “Disclosure, “he advocates for” Exposure”- truth emerging through cracks in the system against institutional resistance. The UFO phenomenon thus represents both a challenge to question fundamental assumptions about reality and an opportunity to reclaim intellectual sovereignty in a world of controlled narratives.

In recent times, the rise of the term UAP (Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon) came with the famous Tic-Tac event. It wasn’t just a rebrand of the topic, it also encompasses a wide range of what is actually occurring. As our understanding grows, so does our terminology. USOs (Unidentified Submerged Objects) are a perfect example of testing the original meaning of UFOs (Unidentified Flying Objects). Something is not only flying in our skies, but is coming out of our waters, transitioning flawlessly from air to sea. It leads us to postulate on the material aspect of the phenomenon, and how it dances in our skies and lurks in our seas.
